ORASTREAM
In the ORASTREAM server, scalable audio bit-stream is packetized into different layers before being streamed out.

Adaptive streaming server and player implementation and operation is simple; quite unlike that associated with alternative "dynamic" adaptive streaming technologies

Based on network information such as available network bandwidth collected, the ORASTREAM server transmits corresponding bit-rate data by truncating unnecessary layers. The streaming player that receives the transmission then reconstructs the scalable audio bit-stream and decodes music immediately (in real-time).

MPEG-4 SLS audio allow digital music to be delivered over a wide range of audio fidelity bit rates from a single compressed lossless quality archival file. This has two advantages. First, the need for multiple audio encoding and bit-rate quality music files is eliminated. Second, the resultant streaming media standardization achieves economies-of-scale efficiency in content delivery networks through the possibility of aggregating storage and traffic from multiple music services. This lowers average content delivery networks' tariff rates for individual music services (than if each were to acquire content delivery network services on its individual storage and/or traffic levels).

ORASTREAM is based on patents-pending, audio streaming server-player system. The value proposition centres on enabling digital music convergence based on:
  • Automatic (transparent) process of adaptive streaming to bandwidth availability and optimization of audio quality;

  • Ease of streaming server setup, maintenance and economies-of-scale savings from an archival audio file;

  • Quality-of-Experience (QoE) performance that enrich streaming music entertainment experience
